Mumbai, Mar 27: The Nashik branch of Udupi Sri Pejawar Adhokshaja Math witnessed a grand and devotional celebration of the annual Sri Ramanavami festival last Thursday at Panchavati, on the banks of the Godavari River, one of Maharashtra’s most revered pilgrimage sites. The festivities were conducted under the guidance and blessings of Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, Mathadheesh of Udupi Sri Pejawar Adhokshaja Math.

Priest Vishnu Tirtha performed special decorations of the deity and conducted poojas and devotional services, delighting the hundreds of assembled devotees. “It is our honour to uphold these sacred traditions and celebrate the birth of Lord Rama with such fervour,” he said.

The celebrations drew hundreds of participants, including Nashik Pejawar Math administrators Srinivas Deshpande Acharya and Anil Acharya, along with Math culinary expert Pandit Balaram Pandey and assistants Lakshman Dubey and Aditi Deshpande. The devotees joined in bhajans and devotional songs, offering prayers and singing praises of Lord Rama throughout the day.

The event was marked by collective worship, ritual offerings, and the spirit of devotion, reflecting the community’s deep faith and commitment to the spiritual legacy of the Pejawar Math. Devotees also expressed their gratitude to the Mathadheesh for his blessings and guidance in organising the festival.
