Model Bank relocates Ghatkopar East branch; new premises inaugurated

Model Bank plays a significant role in daily transactions and customer service and is a people-friendly financial institution," said executive chairman Albert W D’Souza.

Model Co-operative Bank Limited (Scheduled Bank) inaugurated its relocated Ghatkopar East branch on Monday morning at Shubham Avenue building in Pant Nagar MHADA Layout. Albert D’Souza inaugurated the branch by cutting the ribbon. Speaking on the occasion, he said, "The bank officials and staff worked continuously during the relocation process to ensure that customers did not face any inconvenience. Enhanced security systems have been provided, and the relocation aims to offer more seamless and efficient banking services. With coordinated efforts from the bank team, it will be possible to deliver faster and more convenient services to customers."

Fr Savio D’Souza, parish priest of Infant Jesus Church, Ghatkopar East, formally inaugurated the branch by lighting the ceremonial lamp and blessed the occasion. Vice president Maxim I Pinto, general manager and CEO Henry B Quadras, directors, senior officials, and customers also participated in the lamp-lighting ceremony and extended their good wishes.

The event was attended by directors CA Paul Nazareth, Abraham Clement Lobo, advocate Pius Vaz, Thomas D Lobo, Gerald Cardoza, Sanjay Shinde, Hilary L Mendonsa, advocate Fiona M Nazareth, Asha S D’Souza, board member Jude P Lobo, deputy general manager Vincent D’Cunha, assistant general managers Zenon D’Cruz and Ratnakar Shetty, chief compliance officer Digambar Prabhu Tendulkar, other senior officials, and heads of various branches. Representative of builder Ashwin Malde was also felicitated.

Christian leaders from the coastal Karnataka region established the Catholic Co-operative Credit Society in Mangalore, which has now grown into what is known in Greater Mumbai as Model Bank, currently serving in its 110th year as one of the oldest financial institutions.

Many customers, including Gracy D’Souza, Monica D’Costa, Ida Roche, Vincent Castelino, Stestani D’Souza, Sadanand Shetty (Sai Leela Hotel), Sadashiv Shetty (Kunal Bar & Rest), Pravin Nadar (Ratna Super market) and Renita D’Souza were present at the event. Joslin D’Souza read from the Bible, while Cynthia Sequeira led the prayers of the faithful. HR manager Candy Fernandes welcomed the gathering and compared the programme. Branch manager Cleve Sequeira delivered the vote of thanks.
