Mumbai, Apr 2: The iconic Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai has reported a record revenue of Rs 182 crore for the financial year 2025-26, registering a sharp 35% increase compared to Rs 133 crore in the previous fiscal.

Temple authorities said the collections exceeded their initial projection of Rs 155 crore, reflecting a steady rise in the number of devotees and offerings. Treasurer Acharya Pawan Kumar Tripathi attributed the growth to strong public faith, stating that devotees trust their contributions are utilised for social welfare initiatives.

The temple trust, chaired by Sada Sarvankar, presented its annual report for 2025-26 and budget for 2026-27 during a meeting held on March 28. However, officials did not provide a detailed breakdown of revenue sources such as donations, puja bookings, or contributions in gold and silver.

For the upcoming financial year, the trust has earmarked significant funds for welfare activities. These include Rs 36 crore for financial assistance to poor patients, Rs 24 crore to improve basic amenities in government hospitals, and Rs 2.6 crore for its dialysis centre. Additionally, Rs 1 crore has been allocated for scholarships to children of farming families affected by suicides.

In a notable social initiative, the government has approved the trust’s proposal to deposit Rs 10,000 as a fixed deposit for every girl child born in civic hospitals on International Women's Day, amounting to a total outlay of Rs 2 crore.

The substantial rise in revenue and continued focus on welfare spending highlight the temple’s growing role not just as a religious centre but also as a contributor to social development.
