Mumbai, Apr 24: A complaint has been filed against a woman seen in a viral video confronting Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan during a rally in Mumbai’s Worli, alleging that she created a public disturbance and obstructed the event.

The complaint was lodged by Zen Sadavarte, daughter of advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte, at a local police station. It accuses the unidentified woman of using abusive language, disrupting the rally, and obstructing public servants on duty.

The complainant has urged police to register a case under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections related to obstruction of public servants, use of criminal force, intentional insult, and statements leading to public mischief.

The incident occurred during a rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Worli, from Jamboori Maidan to the National Sports Complex dome, to protest the defeat of a Constitution Amendment Bill in Parliament.

In the viral video, the woman is seen expressing anger over being stuck in traffic for nearly an hour due to the rally, asking protesters and police to clear the road.

Responding to the controversy, Mahajan stated that the rally had received all necessary permissions and that the route had been pre-planned.

Meanwhile, police have also registered a case against the rally organisers for alleged violation of norms.
