Kundapur, Mar 11: “People in BJP celebrate and burst crackers when their leaders are sent to jail. They again celebrate in the same way when the leaders come out of jail. Beause of this shameless nature, BJP is come to be known as Besharam Janata Party. Those in BJP have forgotten all about decency, decorum, and self respect,” commented former Rajya Sabha member and All India Congress Committee general secretary, B K Hariprasad.
He was speaking to reporters during his visit to the taluk for campaigning in favour of the party candidate for the coming Lok Sabha bypoll.
“BJP rose to power in the name of culture, refinement, and Hindutva ideologies. The wrongs they committed after getting power are so grave that the people, particularly from the highly cultured Udupi district, will not be able to forgive them. BJP is enveloped in scams and cases including the case relating to death of MLA, Rahupati Bhat’s wife, Padmapriya, sexual harassment case against minister Renukacharya, rape by Halappa, watching of obscene video in assembly by three ministers, jailing of Yeddyurappa, assault on media persons, etc. It is clear that BJP is treading on the path of unethical and immoral policies. The voters will teach them a lesson now,” he said.
Former Bangalore mayor, Ramachandrappa, was with him.
Speaking later at a press conference in Udupi, he challenged Chief Minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, to prove his statement that Congress leaders too face thousands of court cases. “Let him show at least 65 cases pending against Congress leaders pertaining to their 65 years of rule. I will become his trusted stooge for life,” he declared.
