Udupi, May 16: In a touching display of communal harmony, two Muslim women in Udupi approached district in-charge minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar with an appeal highlighting the housing difficulties faced by an elderly Hindu woman living alone.

The women met the minister while submitting a grievance memorandum and drew her attention to the hardships encountered by the elderly woman in constructing her house. As they explained the issue, the women turned emotional.

Moved by the gesture, Hebbalkar described the incident as a powerful example of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood and communal harmony. She also took a swipe at the BJP, remarking that its leaders should learn from such instances of unity between communities.

The minister assured the women that she would personally look into the matter and take the necessary steps to address the elderly woman’s difficulties.
