Muhurat ceremony held for Konkani comedy play ‘Mellyanche Upadr...!’ by Comedy Company Mangalore

Mangaluru, May 19: The muhurat (launch ceremony) of the Konkani comedy play ‘Mellyanche Upadr...!’, being staged by Comedy Company (R), Mangalore on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, was held on Monday, May 18, at Don Bosco Hall.

NRI businessman, philanthropist, and founder of Vision Konkani, Michael D’Souza, presided over the event and symbolically inaugurated the play by unveiling its poster.











































Founder and managing director of Daijiworld media Walter Nandalike attended as the chief guest. Poet and entrepreneur Titus Noronha delivered the introductory address. Also present were Grammy Award-winning music director Vanil Vegas, head of the Astitva troupe and actor-director Christy Neenasam, renowned actor-director Denis Monteiro, and Jasmine D’Souza on behalf of Comedy Company.

The play ‘Mellyanche Upadr...!’ is written and directed by Nellu Permannur, with music by Raveen Martis, lyrics by Wilson Kateel, and background score and music by Vanil Vegas.

During the event, the muhurat ceremony of Chafra D’Costa’s play ‘Vishenthiche Bhav’ was also held.

Among those present were Dolla Mangalore, Konkani Natak Sabha president Floyd D’Mello Cassia, Lucy Lobo Aranha, and several other artistes.

The event was compered by Nellu Permannur.
