AI gives data, not human skills: Bengaluru B-schools turn to movie-style learning

Media Release

Bengaluru, May 22: As artificial intelligence continues to transform workplaces across the world, educational institutions are beginning to realise that technical knowledge alone may no longer be enough for students to succeed.

A reputed KHDA (Government of Dubai) approved organisation, ZillionPathways, has developed a groundbreaking programme, ‘UNWRITTEN SKILLS’, with the support of a team of PhDs from highly reputed universities across the UK, Europe, and the US.

In Bengaluru, two well-known institutions, the over 50-year-old Dayananda Sagar University and the 25-year-old Atria Institute of Technology, recently introduced this programme for MBA students. The initiative focuses not on textbooks or theory, but on communication, confidence and the ability to create opportunities in challenging situations.

At a time when students have access to unlimited information through platforms such as ChatGPT, institutions note that many still struggle with communication, confidence, and decision-making in real-world situations. UNWRITTEN SKILLS is a structured programme that uses highly engaging, movie-based storytelling built on the human intelligence of outstanding Thought Leaders. It is designed not only to complement artificial intelligence but to empower the younger generation to leverage human intelligence more effectively—giving them a distinct edge in an AI-driven world.

“While students today have instant access to information, many still find it difficult to communicate ideas clearly, handle uncertainty, or make decisions under pressure. Through this programme, we focused on helping them think independently, respond to real-life challenges, and build the confidence to create opportunities rather than wait for them,” said Ronald Olivera, founder & CEO of ZillionPathways, who personally conducted the programme.

The sessions explored the journeys of Rajeev Krishnan, former CEO and MD of SPAR and former head of Bharti Walmart, as well as prominent UAE-based entrepreneur Pratap Mendonca, whose ventures span healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, design, and real estate.

Instead of traditional classroom lectures or case studies, the programme used movie-based storytelling drawn from real struggles, failures, and breakthroughs to help students understand how opportunities can be created even in difficult circumstances. The session was not only engaging but also highly interactive and immersive.

Organisers said the response from students was very positive, with 85 per cent rating the programme as excellent, and the remaining participants rating it as very good.

The initiative also drew the attention of several industry leaders and academicians, including Shoaib Ahmed, former president of Tally Solutions, Ranjan Fernandes, executive director at JP Morgan London, Charles Gomes, CEO of CAD Pharma and founder president of Kanara Entrepreneurs, Bangalore and Prof Leo Lobo, 91 academician and expert in Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Many attendees, including academic staff and a few deans, described the programme as a much-needed shift in learning, especially at a time when companies are increasingly looking beyond marks and technical qualifications.

The initiative is now gaining significant attention from leading universities across India and the Middle East, many of which are keen to integrate the program into their academic curriculum. ZillionPathways has also shortlisted a select group of Thought Leaders whose inspiring success stories are expected to offer a distinct advantage to young learners, further strengthening the program’s potential to evolve into a global movement.

Renowned trainers and internationally acclaimed public speakers have already expressed strong interest in delivering these sessions across universities worldwide. The UNWRITTEN SKILLS initiative has already been launched in India and is now gearing up for its launch in the Middle East, with clear plans for global expansion.
