Puttur, Mar 15: One person lost his life in an accident which occurred on national highway at Bedrodi in Bajattur village in the taluk on Wednesday March 14. The deceased has been identified as Sajuraju (35) from Kadaba.
Sajuraju was driving a Toyota Qualis vehicle. The Qualis, in an attempt to overtake another vehicle, hit an auto rickshaw, before colliding with a gas tanker coming from opposite direction. Sajuraju suffered grievous injuries and succumbed to them on the spot, the policemen said.
The auto rickshaw driver luckily escaped without any injuries in the incident, although his vehicle suffered some damages. A case in this respect was registered in the traffic police station here.
