Kasargod, Jun 17: The bodies of two youths who had drowned while entering the sea at Red Moon Beach in Pallikkara have been recovered from the Chithari river.

The deceased have been identified as Appu T Abraham (20), a resident of Pathamuttom in Changanassery, and Ankith Balu (20), a resident of Chiranchira Pathanthara.

The incident occurred two days ago when the two youths had come to the beach along with their friends and entered the sea. They were swept away by the waters and went missing.

Search operations carried out by the Coast Guard and Bekal police had initially failed to trace them. Their bodies were later found in the Chithari river.
