Mangalore: Sporadic Rains Experienced in Parts of District

Mangalore, Mar 17: On Friday afternoon, several regions in Dakshina Kannada district experienced rains. Rainfall was reported from places like Bantwal, Kalladka, Mani, Naravi, Siddakatte, Vamadapadavu, Punjalakatte etc.

A tree which got uprooted across the road blocked traffic for some time at Peruvaje in Sullia taluk. A tree which fell across the road compelled Chief Minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, who was moving on this road, to take alternative route.

Power and telephone lines were disrupted at several places, and the departments undertook the task of restoring connections.
