New Delhi, Jun 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday received a phone call from Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who conveyed condolences over the deaths of Indian nationals in the recent explosion at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar.
Twelve Indians were among 13 people killed in the blast that occurred at the Barzan local gas supply facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City on Sunday night.

Expressing gratitude for the Amir's gesture, Modi said the two leaders shared the grief of the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
"I thank His Highness the Amir of Qatar for his phone call and condolences on the loss of lives of Indian nationals in the tragic accident at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar," the Prime Minister said in a post on X.
He added that India and Qatar remain committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of their citizens and stand in solidarity during difficult times.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, the two leaders also discussed the evolving situation in West Asia. Modi appreciated Qatar's constructive role in ongoing peace efforts and expressed hope that such initiatives would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors and agreed to remain in close contact.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Amir for the prompt medical assistance extended to those injured in the explosion and for his words of sympathy towards the affected families.
The explosion at the QatarEnergy LNG-operated facility left 66 people injured, including several Indians. The Indian mission in Qatar, citing local authorities, said all injured persons are in stable condition and are receiving appropriate medical treatment.
The incident has drawn widespread concern, with both nations pledging continued support for the victims and their families.
