Gandhinagar, Jun 26: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat beginning June 27, during which he is scheduled to launch the cooperative-based ride-hailing platform 'Bharat Taxi' and inaugurate the pilot phase of the 'PM Family Care Tracker' project.
According to the official itinerary, Shah will preside over the launch of Bharat Taxi at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on Friday. The initiative, introduced under the Ministry of Cooperation, aims to create a driver-centric mobility platform that functions on a cooperative model.

Unlike private app-based cab aggregators, Bharat Taxi follows a zero-commission system, enabling drivers to retain the full fare earned from rides while also sharing in the platform's overall profits. The service offers bookings for taxis, auto-rickshaws and two-wheelers.
The platform has been rolled out initially in Delhi-NCR and Gujarat, with plans to extend operations across the country in phases over the next two to three years.
While unveiling the project earlier this year, Shah had said Bharat Taxi would eventually operate nationwide, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Dwarka to Kamakhya. He had emphasised that the cooperative model would ensure financial benefits flow directly to drivers instead of remaining with private aggregators.
On June 28, the Union Minister will inaugurate the pilot phase of the PM Family Care Tracker Project at the Town Hall in Gandhinagar. The programme is expected to mark the beginning of the project's trial implementation before it is expanded on a larger scale.
The visit follows Shah's recent engagements in Gujarat. On June 21, he participated in the International Day of Yoga celebrations held in Ahmedabad as part of the nationwide observance themed "Yoga for Healthy Ageing."
Following the event, Shah described yoga as India's timeless contribution to the world, stating on social media that it promotes holistic well-being by strengthening the mind, body and soul. He also joined thousands of participants in a public yoga session organised in Ahmedabad.
During the same occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended the state-level Yoga Day programme in Mansa, Gandhinagar district, while similar events were organised across the state to mark the global observance.
