Mangaluru, Jun 27: St Agnes School CBSE witnessed a momentous celebration of leadership, responsibility, and service as it hosted its investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 on June 24. Held under the inspiring theme ‘Empowered to Lead,’ the ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected student council, entrusting young leaders with the responsibility of upholding the values and legacy of the institution.

The dignitaries were accorded a warm and respectful welcome through a guard of honour presented by the newly elected cabinet members. The ceremony was graced by Sr Dr Venora AC, joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions and chief guest, along with Pradeep Misquith, vice president of the PTA; Sr Jennifer Moras AC, principal; Sr Leticia AC, coordinator of St Agnes Preparatory School; Sr Meena Fernandes AC, vice principal; Sr Lavi Shanti, coordinator and other distinguished guests.

As a mark of reverence and appreciation, the chief guest Sr Dr Venora AC, was presented with a symbolic angel, an emblem of guidance, compassion and devoted service that resonated deeply with her exemplary journey in education and formation.

The programme commenced with a prayer service invoking God’s abundant blessings upon the newly elected student leaders and the entire school community. Adding grace and vibrancy to the occasion, the students presented a captivating welcome dance that beautifully expressed joy, enthusiasm and hospitality.

Welcoming the august gathering, principal Sr Jennifer Moras AC extended her warm greetings to the dignitaries, staff and students. In her address, she accorded a special welcome to the chief guest, Sr Dr Venora AC, joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions and highlighted her distinguished contributions to education, profound commitment to academic excellence, and invaluable service to the institution.

Following the welcome address, the ceremony progressed to its most significant segment—the oath-taking ceremony. Led by head girl Nishka Jayaraj Bangera, the newly elected cabinet members marched with dignity and discipline and solemnly pledged to uphold the values and vision of the institution. The oath echoed through the gathering as a powerful commitment to leadership, accountability, and dedicated service.

A significant feature of the ceremony was the symbolic handing over of responsibilities by the Alma Mater to the newly elected leaders. The school flag was ceremoniously handed over to the principal, who in turn entrusted it to the head girl Nishka Jayaraj Bangera and assistant head girl Reishan Maria Fernandes, symbolizing the continuity of leadership and the commitment to uphold the school motto, ‘God is Our Strength.’ Subsequently, the flags of Satya Squad, Shanthi Squad, Neethi Squad, and Daya Squad were presented to the respective squad ministers, signifying the transmission of responsibility and trust.

The dignitaries then conferred the sashes and badges upon the newly appointed leaders, officially investing them with their roles and responsibilities. This symbolic act represented the confidence reposed in them by the institution and marked the beginning of a new chapter of dedicated leadership.

Adding a deeper symbolic dimension to the occasion, the ceremony was enriched by the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance and hope over darkness. In a touching gesture, the principal passed the illuminating light to the student leaders, signifying the sharing of wisdom, vision and responsibility. The leaders thereafter renewed their commitment through a solemn oath administered by the principal.

Principal Sr Jennifer Moras AC, in her concluding address, congratulated the newly elected student leaders and encouraged them to lead with vision, act with wisdom and uphold the cherished values of St Agnes School CBSE through their words and actions.

The chief guest, Sr Dr Venora AC, in her address, felicitated the newly elected cabinet members and urged them to embrace their responsibilities with dedication and discernment. Describing leadership as both an honour and a profound responsibility, she urged the young leaders to remain focused, cultivate intellectual curiosity and strive for excellence in every sphere of school life. Encouraging them to lead with foresight and a spirit of service, she called upon them to work collectively towards advancing the institution’s legacy of excellence.

The programme was anchored with confidence and poise by Sanvita (grade VIII) and Summaya (grade IX) who conducted the proceedings seamlessly. Tr Dora Laveena and Tr Monisha were designated as the school cabinet animators for the academic year 2026–27, entrusted with mentoring and guiding the student leaders.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by head girl Nishka Jayaraj Bangera, who acknowledged the spirit of unity and cooperation that contributed to the success of the event.
