Guwahati, Jul 5: The flood situation in Assam improved significantly on Sunday, with Dhemaji emerging as the only district still affected by inundation, while all major rivers in the state were flowing below the danger level, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
The ASDMA said 3,917 people from 15 villages across the Jonai and Sissiborgaon revenue circles in Dhemaji district continue to be affected by the floods.

Relief operations are continuing in the district, with two relief camps housing 165 people, including 42 men, 64 women and 51 children. The camps are also accommodating eight pregnant or lactating women, while no persons with disabilities have been reported among the inmates.
According to government officials, around 70 hectares of agricultural land remain submerged, while nearly 14,014 livestock have been affected by the floods. No animal deaths due to flooding have been reported.
Floodwaters have also caused damage to 91 houses, of which 13 were completely destroyed and 78 sustained partial damage.
Authorities said there were no reports of flood-related deaths or missing persons during the latest reporting period. No rescue operations involving boats or helicopters were required, reflecting the steady improvement in the state's flood situation.
Officials also confirmed that no river in Assam was flowing above the danger mark or highest flood level on Sunday.
However, a road connecting Maj Patirchuk and Borkulia in Lakhimpur district remains breached after being washed away by floodwaters, affecting connectivity in the area.
Meanwhile, the district administration in Dhemaji is continuing to assess agricultural losses caused by silt deposits left behind by the receding floodwaters. Authorities are preparing geo-tagged inspection reports to document the damage and facilitate further relief and rehabilitation measures while maintaining close monitoring of the situation.
