London, Jul 10: Karolina Muchova produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Coco Gauff and book her place in the Wimbledon women's singles final for the first time in her career.
The 10th-seeded Czech survived a match point before edging past the American 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (12-10) in a thrilling semi-final that lasted two hours and 35 minutes. She will now face compatriot Linda Noskova in an all-Czech championship clash.

Muchova dominated the opening set before Gauff responded strongly to level the match. The deciding set turned into a closely fought contest, with neither player able to gain a decisive advantage.
In the tense tie-break, Gauff recovered from 4-1 down and earned a match point on her serve. However, she squandered the opportunity by hitting a routine forehand into the net. Muchova missed her first chance to close out the match but converted her second to seal the biggest Wimbledon victory of her career.
"It was very nerve-wracking. I'm shaking and trying to sink it in. It was such a big fight. It was a rollercoaster," Muchova said after the match.
The 29-year-old has now reached the second Grand Slam final of her career after finishing runner-up at the 2023 French Open, where she lost to Iga Swiatek. Her latest achievement comes after returning from a wrist injury that sidelined her for nearly 10 months from September 2023.
Muchova's impressive run at Wimbledon has included victories over three former Grand Slam champions. Despite appearing to struggle physically during the deciding set, she battled through to secure a memorable win.
Earlier, Linda Noskova booked her place in the final with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk. The win set up an all-Czech Wimbledon women's singles final.
