Konkan Railway police recover 60 stolen phones, arrest seven

Margao, Jul 11: The Konkan Railway Police have recovered 60 mobile phones stolen from passengers travelling on trains along the Konkan Railway route and arrested seven persons in connection with the thefts.

According to the police, the stolen mobile phones were traced and recovered through sustained investigation, technical analysis and coordinated efforts by personnel of the Konkan Railway Police Station.

The recovered devices were linked to multiple theft cases registered at the police station after passengers reported their mobile phones missing or stolen while travelling on different trains along the Konkan Railway route.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mukesh Kumar Chauhan and Ram Sajan Chauhan, both residents of Maharashtra; Radhe Shyam and Lal Singh, both from Uttar Pradesh; Sonu Dikshit of Margao; Riyaz Ali Zakir of Ponda; and Pravin Selvaraj of Kerala.

Police said the recovered mobile phones will be returned to their rightful owners after verification of ownership and completion of the necessary legal formalities.
