Search operation launched in Rajouri after CCTV spots suspected terrorists

Rajouri, Jul 14: Security forces on Tuesday launched a massive search operation in several villages of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district after CCTV footage purportedly captured the movement of two suspected terrorists in the area, officials said.

According to officials, the suspected terrorists were seen crossing a road late on Sunday night in the Thanamandi area, triggering a coordinated operation by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Army.

Based on the CCTV footage, search teams spread across Bhanghai, Hasplote, Karyote, Kopra Top and adjoining forested villages in an effort to trace the two suspects.

Security personnel have intensified searches in the forest areas and surrounding villages as part of the operation.

The search operation was continuing at the time of the latest reports, officials said.
