Tehran, Jul 21: Iran's military has claimed responsibility for fresh drone strikes targeting multiple US military installations in Kuwait, marking another escalation in the ongoing conflict between Tehran and Washington.
In a statement carried by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the Iranian army said it used "kamikaze drones" to target three major US military facilities in Kuwait.
According to the statement, the strikes hit administrative buildings and direction-finding antennas at Camp Arifjan, a helicopter parking area at Camp Al-Adiri, and troop accommodation facilities at the Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base.
The Iranian military claimed the attacks were aimed at restoring regional security, alleging that stability had been undermined by the presence of what it described as "US terrorist forces."
"Security in the region has been disrupted following the mischief of US terrorist forces, and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic are attempting to restore security and calm to the region in their battle against the US," the statement said.
The announcement came shortly after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also claimed attacks on US assets at Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base and Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
There was no immediate confirmation from US or Kuwaiti authorities regarding the claimed strikes or any reports of damage or casualties.
