New Delhi, Aug 2: The Centre on Sunday said the Jan Aushadhi nutraceuticals portfolio is making nutrition supplements more affordable and accessible for households across the country by offering a range of products, including protein bars, immunity bars, malt-based foods and specialised nutritional formulations at lower prices.
According to an official statement, the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) offers products catering to the nutritional needs of children, working adults, women and senior citizens.

The range includes Jan Aushadhi Protein Bar and Jan Aushadhi Immunity Bar in 35-gram chocolate packs, as well as Jan Aushadhi Women Protein Boost in 250-gram chocolate and vanilla variants priced at Rs 204.66.
For everyday nutritional support, the Jan Aushadhi Poshan range offers malt-based nutritional food fortified with essential vitamins and minerals. The 500-gram regular pack is priced at Rs 160.17, while the cocoa-flavoured variant costs Rs 164.62. A 30-gram cocoa sachet is also available for Rs 8.90.
The government said the availability of multiple pack sizes provides flexibility for different consumption needs and budgets, making the products suitable for regular household use.
It noted that the nutrient-rich Jan Aushadhi Protein Bar and Immunity Bar offer a convenient source of nutrition for children, working professionals and fitness enthusiasts.
For consumers requiring higher protein intake, the scheme also offers 100 per cent Whey Protein Powder and Jan Aushadhi Protein Powder to support daily protein requirements and muscle recovery. The protein powder is available in vanilla and kesar pista flavours.
The statement added that Jan Aushadhi Women Protein Boost has been specially formulated to support women's nutritional needs by promoting daily protein intake, energy levels, and bone and muscle health.
The government, however, advised that specialised nutritional products should be consumed under appropriate medical and dietary guidance, while noting that affordable pricing helps make nutritional support more accessible to families.
