Mumbai, Aug 7: FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) on Friday reported an 11.5 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 504.52 crore for the first quarter of FY27, driven by strong volume growth and robust performance in its Africa business.
The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 452.45 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Revenue from operations increased 18.3 per cent to Rs 4,225.47 crore during the April-June quarter, compared with Rs 3,571.32 crore a year earlier.

GCPL said consolidated sales grew 19 per cent year-on-year, supported by an underlying volume growth of 9 per cent, with growth recorded across all major businesses.
Total expenses during the quarter rose 18.6 per cent to Rs 3,585.24 crore.
Managing Director and CEO Sudhir Sitapati said the company delivered broad-based revenue and profit growth despite continued pressure from higher input costs and volatility in crude oil and commodity prices.
He attributed the strong performance primarily to exceptional growth in Africa, where several countries and product categories recorded robust sales. He added that India performed well, while Indonesia returned to stable growth.
In the domestic market, GCPL reported revenue of Rs 2,557.41 crore, an increase of 11.4 per cent. On a standalone basis, the company recorded 7 per cent underlying volume growth, while EBITDA rose 10 per cent to Rs 548 crore.
The company's Home Care business grew 12 per cent, while Personal Care recorded an 11 per cent increase in India.
Revenue from Indonesia, GCPL's second-largest market, rose 15.3 per cent to Rs 486.91 crore, supported by strong growth in shampoo and household insecticide categories.
The Africa business, including Strength of Nature, posted a 47 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 1,006.13 crore. The region registered 17 per cent underlying volume growth and a 42 per cent rise in EBITDA, driven by strong demand across key markets and product categories.
Revenue from other international markets, including Latin America, grew 17.4 per cent to Rs 258.32 crore during the quarter.
Following the announcement of the results, shares of Godrej Consumer Products were trading 3.63 per cent lower at Rs 1,041.30 on the BSE.
