Haldwani, Aug 9: While hair fall and hair loss are common concerns for many people, a woman from Uttarakhand has made headlines by growing her hair to an extraordinary length and entering the Guinness World Records.

Renu from Haldwani has set a new record with hair measuring 271.50 cm (8 feet 10 inches), surpassing the previous record of 257.33 cm held by Ukraine's Alia Nasyrova.

Renu said she has not cut her hair since 2015 and has been taking care of it using homemade oils and shampoos.

She told Guinness World Records that long hair is traditionally regarded as a symbol of beauty and cultural heritage in India, which inspired her to grow her hair to such an exceptional length.

Renu also runs a YouTube channel where she shares hair-care tips. She said her aim was to demonstrate the results of patience and natural hair care while bringing recognition to her country and community.
