Colombo, Aug 27: In Men's Cricket, India remain in a strong position in the second and final Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, with rain threatening to disrupt the final day's play.

Sri Lanka's Sonal Dinusha has brought up his half-century and, along with Keshara Nuwantha, is continuing to resist India's bowling attack.

The hosts were 229 for six, holding a 16-run lead, when rain brought an early end to the fourth day's play on Wednesday. Pasindu Sooriyabandara top-scored with 92 and shared an important partnership with Kamindu Mendis.

However, India struck back in the final session, claiming three wickets and restricting Sri Lanka's lead.

Earlier, India enforced the follow-on after bowling Sri Lanka out for 290 in their first innings. Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar claimed three wickets each, while Saransh Jain took two wickets.

India had declared their first innings at 503, with centuries from Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal.

India lead the two-match series 1-0 and are now within sight of completing a series sweep, provided weather conditions allow sufficient play on the final day.
