Riyadh, Sep 6: Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh on Sunday met Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy Adel al-Jubeir in Riyadh and reviewed the “excellent” state of bilateral relations between India and Saudi Arabia.
“Had a warm and productive meeting with Adel al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy of Saudi Arabia. Reviewed the excellent state of India-Saudi bilateral relations and discussed cooperation on climate action,” Singh said in a post on X.
Earlier in the day, Singh met Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmad bin Sulaiman Alrajhi and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the labour and manpower sectors.
“Pleased to meet Ahmad bin Sulaiman Alrajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia. Held wide-ranging discussions on further strengthening India–Saudi Arabia cooperation in the labour and manpower sector, reflecting the depth and growing momentum of our Strategic Partnership,” Singh posted on X.
He thanked Alrajhi for the invitation and hospitality.
Singh arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday for his first official visit to the country. He was received in Riyadh by India’s Ambassador Vipul and Tariq Al Hamad, Deputy Minister for International Affairs under the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
“Arrived in Riyadh on a bilateral visit to Saudi Arabia. Warmly received by Ambassador Vipul and Tariq Al Hamad, Deputy Minister for International Affairs under Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. I look forward to fruitful engagements with Saudi counterparts and meaningful interactions with the Indian diaspora and business leaders in the Kingdom,” Singh said.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Singh’s visit will continue until September 8. During the visit, he is also scheduled to meet Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister for Environment, Water and Agriculture and other dignitaries.
Singh will interact with a broad cross-section of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia, along with Indian business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals.
The MEA said he would also interact with Indian workers in the Kingdom, reflecting the Indian government’s “unwavering commitment” to the welfare of Indian workers overseas.
