Srinivas University to celebrate 'Onashtami 2026' with grand cultural festivities on Sep 10

Mangaluru, Sep 8: Srinivas University, is all set to celebrate cultural fest ‘Onashtami 2026’ with a grand blend of culture, tradition and entertainment on September 10, at the Srinivas University City Campus, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru.

The programme is being organised by the Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, Department of Interior Design, Department of BSc Animation and Department of Mass Communication & Media Studies.

As a prelude to the celebrations, the official Onashtami 2026 poster was released on September 7 by Prof B Prashanth Prabhu, dean, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, Srinivas University. The poster release programme witnessed an energetic and colourful atmosphere, setting the tone for the upcoming celebration.

Adding a traditional and spectacular touch to the occasion, Pili Tase and Mahaveli, arriving on horseback, made a special appearance and emerged as a major attraction. The traditional presentation attracted the attention of students and staff and added to the festive spirit.

The poster release was further enlivened by an energetic flash mob performance by the students, showcasing their enthusiasm, creativity and talent. The performance created a vibrant atmosphere on campus and generated excitement among the students for the main event.

The grand Onashtami 2026 celebration will be presided over by Dr A Srinivas Rao, hon’ble chancellor, Srinivas University and president, A Shama Rao Foundation.

The celebration is expected to bring together students and faculty in a colourful celebration of tradition, culture and youthful creativity.
