Vishwa Tulu Mahasabha expresses gratitude for historic recognition of language

London, Sep 19: Chandrahasa Hegde, president, Vishwa Tulu Mahasabha (International - UK Chapter), on behalf of the global Tulu community, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to chief minister D K Shivakumar and the Karnataka Cabinet for granting Tulu the status of a second official language.

In a statement, he described the decision as a historic milestone that has brought immense happiness to millions of Tulu-speaking people across the world. He said that the historic decision not only honours the community’s rich cultural heritage but also further strengthens its identity at the global level.

He further thanked the Karnataka government for fulfilling a long-standing dream and enabling the Tulu community to celebrate its rich culture with pride.
