Begusarai, Oct 22: The family of Hritik Kumar alias Roshan, one of the key accused in the firing case involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, has confirmed his arrest by Mumbai police but maintained that he is innocent.
Hritik’s mother, Sanyukta Devi, who runs a tea-cum-cosmetics shop in Begusarai, said the family had received information about his arrest in connection with the case. “My son is innocent. He can’t do this,” she said.
She said the last information she received from Hritik was that he was working as a cook with a catering agency in Delhi. According to her, he wanted to marry a woman from Rajasthan and had travelled to Surat in Gujarat for wedding shopping.

Begusarai Superintendent of Police Maneesh confirmed that police had questioned Hritik’s parents at their residence and gathered information about his background. “We also collected information about Hritik’s credentials,” the SP told the media.
According to his family, Hritik left his village about two years ago in search of employment. He initially worked as a cook with a catering agency in Delhi before moving to Mumbai around three months ago. In Mumbai, he reportedly worked at a restaurant as a cook and also as a bike-taxi driver.
Hritik studied up to Class 12 at a local college before leaving home for work. A neighbour said his lifestyle had changed significantly after he moved to Delhi.
The 22-year-old, a native of Begusarai district in Bihar, was arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, and subsequently brought to Mumbai for interrogation in connection with the firing incident. He is allegedly accused of riding the two-wheeler used during the attack, in which his accomplice reportedly opened fire at Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
Shroff escaped unhurt, but his driver and a bystander sustained injuries in the firing. Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, alleged operators of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, later claimed responsibility for the attack on the actor.
