Bahrain, Oct 25: To unveil the rich cultural heritage, divine beliefs, and the glory of Yakshagana to non-resident Kannadigas, a special Yakshagana performance titled 'Shiva Panjurli Mahime' has been organised by the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation under the auspices of the Bahrain Kannada Sangha.
The grand cultural event will take place on Friday, October 30, at the Kannada Sangha auditorium in Manama. The Yakshagana performance is scheduled to commence at 4:30 pm. Reflecting the traditional art, culture, and religious heritage of coastal Karnataka, the programme promises to offer a unique cultural experience to Kannadigas residing in Bahrain.

Yakshagana is not merely an art form for entertainment; it is a rare confluence of coastal lifestyle, mythological narratives, devotion, elaborate costumes, music, dance, and dialogue. Efforts to keep such art forms alive on foreign soil help strengthen the cultural roots of Kannadigas.
Renowned artists of the Yakshagana field, including Bhagavatha Yakshadhruva Patla Sathish Shetty, Chandrashekar Dharmasthala, Prajwal Kumar Guruvayanakere, Rakshith Shetty Padu, and Kaushal Raj Puthige, along with talented local artists from the island, will showcase their artistic prowess on stage. Through their stellar performances, the 'Shiva Panjurli Mahime' Yakshagana is expected to provide a mesmerising experience for the audience.
Such events play a crucial role in uniting Kannadigas in Bahrain and promoting the Kannada language, culture, and art. Besides introducing the coastal Yakshagana heritage to the younger generation, a primary objective of these events is to instill a sense of pride among NRIs about their native art and culture.
The organisers have urged Yakshagana enthusiasts, art lovers, and Kannadigas to participate in large numbers and make the event a grand success. A special dinner has been arranged following the Yakshagana performance. Additionally, parking facilities will be provided for attendees who arrive on time.
The event offers a wonderful opportunity for Kannadigas in Bahrain to witness the essence of coastal soil, the devotion of divine heritage, and the theatrical grandeur of Yakshagana on a single stage.
