Tehran, Oct 28: Qatari mediators have presented Iran with a new draft agreement aimed at ending the war involving the United States and Israel, with Tehran expected to respond by the end of the week, an official briefed on the negotiations said on Wednesday.
The draft, presented on Sunday, proposes a seven-day timeline to address concerns raised by both Tehran and Washington. It outlines daily confidence-building measures that each side would be expected to undertake, the official said.

The proposed timeline could begin early next week, with several countries expected to act as guarantors of the agreement.
Qatar and Pakistan have been leading diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, which began in February with US and Israeli military action against Iran. The war has disrupted global shipping and oil supplies and affected other parts of the Middle East.
Ahead of Sunday's meeting in Tehran, concerns had emerged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is seeking another term in a general election, could order renewed attacks against Iran during the week, the official said.
Trump threatens renewed strikes
US President Donald Trump reiterated threats on Friday to launch fresh strikes against Iran if the conflict resumes. Meanwhile, Iranian security officials told Reuters that Tehran had drawn up detailed plans to target undersea cables in the Gulf if the United States and Israel renewed their attacks.
Previous mediation efforts had resulted in an interim peace agreement in June, but the arrangement quickly unravelled.
Tensions in the region have also been fuelled by repeated attacks by Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement against Saudi Arabia, the world's largest crude oil exporter, in recent weeks.
