Mumbai, Apr 12 (IANS): Emraan Hashmi, popularly known as Bollywood's serial kisser, has upped his fees and says he wants to play a long innings in the film industry and, therefore, won't quote something "crazy" that would burden a filmmaker.

"See, I have increased my rates, but I won't tell you the exact figure. I think, as an actor, my rate should not burden a film. But I don't want it (fees) to be detrimental to my own career," Emraan told reporters here Wednesday at the launch of the first look of his film "Shanghai".

"There are certain actors who charge more and eventually it burdens the film. But I will never do that. It's not a crazy price and thankfully, I have worked in a producer's office, so I now how much actors are criticised for over-charging. I know that my price should be such that it keeps me in the industry for long," said the actor who is well-known filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's nephew.

Emraan plays a porn filmmaker in director Dibakar Bannerji's "Shanghai", which also stars Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin.

The 33-year-old, who has been part of filmdom for nine years, earned appreciation for his work in "Murder" and "Gangster - A Love Story" and "The Dirty Picture".
