Mangalore, May 23: Konkani thriller play ‘Dubavacho Dunvor’ was staged by Floyd D’Mello Cascia during the annual day celebrations of St Rita’s parish, Cascia, at St Rita’s High School grounds on Sunday May 20.

Konkani veteran litterateur Dolphy Cascia is the playwright of the play directed by John M Permannur.

Sandesha Lalit Kala Academy director Fr Valerian Mendonca was the chief guest at the stage programme held earlier.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Mendonca said that the talented artistes need the support of drama enthusiasts and congratulated the group of artistes led by Floyd D’Mello.

Dubavacho Dunvor held the audience captive from the beginning till the last scene.  The play, as the title suggests, is the mystery about the murder of a woman—Roopa from Karwar who arrives in Mangalore and is found to have committed suicide in a suspicious manner in the bathroom of a palatial villa owned by the elite Suvares.  The postmortem report states that it was not a suicide but a murder.  The doubt falls on playboy Rajesh, lawyer’s clerk Rafael, womanizer elderly Suvares, cook Jockey, and the investigating sub inspector Farayes.

Angels – Kingsley Nazareth Padil provided the sound and lighting effects. Cascia parish priest Fr Vincent Victor Menezes felicitated John Permannur and all the artistes after the show.
