Sharjah: Ramakshatriya Sangha's 7th Anniversary Celebrated with Grandeur

Sharjah, May 31: Ramakshatriya Sangha, UAE, celebrated its seventh annual day on May 25 at Spicy Land Restaurant, here, with great grandeur.

The programme commenced with the welcome speech by Sugandhraj Bekal, followed by traditional lighting of the lamp by five ladies Sujaya Sundeep Rao, Suvarna Basant Bekal, Poornima Rajesh Bekal, Arundhati Ashok Hawaldar & Jayalaxmi Raghu. Devotional prayer sung by Mallika Narendra.

 

 

 

 

  

 

The entertainment programme began with Monica Ashok Hawaldar performing welcome dance followed by bollywood dance by Harshith.  Subith Satish Hanglur danced to the tune of a Kannada song from the movie Kaviratna Kalidasa. Later Mallika Narendra sang two solo numbers in her melodious voice.  Harish Satlgi also sang two solo numbers melodeously.  Bhavya and Navya Sundeep danced to the song 'Mayya Yashodha' from the Hindi movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.  Mallika and Harish sang a two duet songs.

The entertainment programme continued with fancy dress performances by Yash Praveen Uppoor as 'Maani Bhat', Ishant Ranjan Kotekar as 'Shakuntala', Anagha Ajay as 'Miss World', Ankita Rajesh Bekal as 'Witch', Manish Narendra as 'Poojari' and Shibani Sathish Hangloor as 'Radhe'.  All the participants were applauded by the crowd for their great costumes and performance.

Later a skit titled 'Kittur Chennamma Era' enacted by Nagaraj, Swathi and Sathvik was mind blowing. The 3-year-old child stole the show with his brilliant act, and the entire audience within the hall burst into celebration with thunderous applause reverberating all around. Well known media personality B G Mohandas was the chief guest of the event, he too was mesmerized by the child’s act.

The stage programme commenced with the president, secretary, treasurer invited on to the dais. The chief guest B G Mohandas was escorted to the dais by Gopinath Rao, Srinivas proceeded with the introduction of the Sangha. Praveen Uppoor, secretary of the Sangha read the detail activities held for the year. Introduction of the chief guest and Sanmaana patra was read by Gopalkrishna Rao, president Sundeep Rao welcomed the chief guest and members with his small speech. The chief guest felicitation programme commenced with the president Sundeep presenting shawl, Sugandhraj Bekal, Sangha advisor, handed the flower bouquet, Praveen Uppoor, secretary, handed the fruits, Basant Bekal, treasurer handed the Sanmanna Patra, Dinesh Bekal, handed over the memento. The felicitation items were delivered by the small cute girls of the Sangha. The chief guest B G Mohandas spoke on the occasion and appreciated the work being done by the community members and keeping the tradition and culture alive in this far away place. After the chief guest speech, the winners of gents and ladies cooking competition, drawing coloring competition were honored by the chief guest. Gifts were distributed to Ashwin Rajesh Bekal and Vaibhavi Durgadas Rao for their achievements in academic excellence. The gift items were delivered by the sweet little boys. Also a certificate of congratulation was presented in the annual function to Ratnamahal in accordance to her social work and humanitarian service rendered to the needy. Delicious lunch was served. In the interval time Riyaz and Harish entertained the audience with their melodious voice.

After the interval, new members and community members who came on visit were called up on to the dais and introduced.

Ratnakar Sherigar, filled laughter in the auditorium with his jokes.

The young kids of the sangha danced to a Yakshagana style Song Patta Patta Gali Patta performed by Monica Ashok Hawaldar, Bhavya Sundeep Rao, Navya Sundeep Rao, Sai Ankita Rajesh Bekal, Harshith Basant Bekal, Siddhesh Ashok Hawaldar, which was wonderfully choreographed by Sujaya Sundeep and Arundhati Hawaldar.

Special guest for the event, social worker Shodhan Prasad, Satish Poojary, President, Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Anand Bailoor, Nityanand and Shashikant graced the occasion and were welcomed to the stage with flower bouquet by the Sangha President.

The main attraction was the showcasing of the dance by Mudra Institute dance troupe who mesmerized by their dance for one hour under the leadership of Vadiraj Uppoor, Prasanna Kumar and their team. It was an amazing experience for all those witnessed this great dance style and the audience yielding and requesting once more once more. In appreciation a memento and certificate of appreciation was handed over to Vadiraj Uppoor by the president and to all his teams.

Lucky Dip coupon was also organized for this event with three prizes. Guests, Shodhan Prasad, Satish Poojary and Anand Bailoor picked up the lucky coupon and handed the prizes to the winners. Prize was kept for the maximum lucky coupon sold by an individual.

Presentation of certificates to participants and blood donors was distributed by the special guest Sathish Poojary, Nithyanand and Shashikant and also by all the executive and founder members.

Adrusta Ramakshatriya lucky draw was picked up by our elderly Sabithabai B P, which was won by Roopesh D K.

Superb and brilliant compeering for the event was done by Sujaya Sundeep Rao, Smitha Rao, Geetha Ajay and Roopesh D K who did a wonderful job, with their elegant poise and charm on the audience. Riyaz provided the sound system and also sang few songs in his melodious voice.

Sugandhraj Bekal thanked the sponsor, Cruise and Dina, Spicy Land Restaurant for providing hall and delicious food, active participants, Sugandhraj Bekal, Rajesh Bekal, Satish Hanglur, Taresh Rao, Basant Bekal, Praveen Uppoor and all the executive members for their kind effort and contribution provided for the success of this great event and invited all members to take part in coming Sangha activities. Ramakshatriya Sangha also announced their annual general body meeting for the new committee scheduled to be held on Friday June 1 at 10 am at Bengre Kamat Restaurant, Bur Dubai.
