Bangalore: With CC Cameras, Bars to be Under Watchful Eyes of Police

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Jun 1: The Bangalore police are out to not only catch criminals, but dive right into the root where crime supposedly takes birth.

In a bid to curb criminal and illegal activities in the city, Bangalore police have decided to install closed circuit (CC) cameras in wine shops and bars, where criminals are said to meet and hatch their plans.

Restaurants, luxury hotels and jewellery stores are already equipped with such cameras. Now the police have gone a step further by doing the same in liquor points.

"We expect that every bar and wine shop owner installs CC cameras," said police commissioner Jyothi Prakash Mirji.

It is not secret that dim-lit bars are the favourite hubs of anti-social elements to meet and plot. In order to trace the culprit and curb illegal activities, under the direction of the commissioner, the DCPs have ordered the installation of CC cameras in bars and wine shops.

It is learnt bars and liquor outlets in Upperapete, Wilson Garden, Chamarajapete and also in the area of Aadugoodi station the cameras will be installed.

CC cameras have time and again made the difference between solved and unsolved crime. The police department believes that this could be one of the effective methods to catch culprits as the cameras provide clear identity of the person.

Oh… There will be a big problem since not only Criminals but few of them are National and State Politicians belong to all Major Political Parties roaming around those Bars on daily routine basis too. I think Bangalore Police Chief invited the trouble in his career whereby he himself put his name in the list of transfers very soon

Please install CCTV in police stations itself. Most of the criminal plots happen in the stations ,including taking a lot of hafta and showing a blind eye to the problem
