Bantwal: Puttur Assistant Commissioner Injured in Road Mishap

Bantwal, Jun 2:
A car driven by Puttur Assistant Commissioner (AC) hit an electric pole and rolled over at Urimajalu, near Vittal, on Thursday May 31. All the three passengers including the AC survived without major fatalities.

Puttur AC and a resident of Badekkila–Mudraje in Kedila gram panchayat Sundar Bhat, his wife Ratna, and their relative Govind Bhat were injured in the mishap.
 
Bhat was returning to his house in Kedila from Vittal when the steering-rack broke. The car hit a nearby electric pole and rolled over. The locals rushed to the rescue and transported the injured to a private hospital in Puttur.
 
The car as well as the electric pole was fully damaged. Mescom officials arrived at the site with workmen and replaced the damaged pole and restored the electricity supply.
