Mangalore: Kakkepadavu Panchayath Member Commits Suicide

Mangalore, Jun 3:
Santosh Shetty (27), gram panchayat and BJP member, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison here on Saturday the Saturday June 2.

He is the only son, among the four children of a senior Kumbla organizer, Kakkepadavu Jaya Shetty. He was sleeping in his house after he went for a hire on his own pick-up goods vehicle. When his mom came to wake him up for tea at 11 am, he unanswered and vomited.

Seeing him unconscious, family members shifted him to Mulkaje Mada Government Hospital, where he was asked to be taken to Mangalore for further medical examination, as his condition was critical. He breathed his last on the way to Mangalore.

Punjalkatte police have registered a case on this regard.

He was supposed to get married at the earliest. It was said that he was an able leader in the panchayat as well as BJP.

BJP district president, Padmanabh Kottari, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, coastal development authority chairman, B Nagaraj Shetty and many other leaders have expressed deep condolence to the departed soul.
