    Dear our Karnataka Govt,
Kindly give an opportunity to our efficient youngsters to become RTO and good police officers. Our five fingers are not same. Likewise all police people are not same like those who take money and leave the drivers who break the traffic rules. I hope we have courageous and daring youths to handle traffic. Then you see the fate of the rash and unskilled drivers.

That accident was just horrible!! i was there and there was so much blood on the road. Durgamba Motors should pay a huge amount of compensation the the family.
1)The bus was in the wrong route
    2)rash driving
what a pity!! yashwin's parents have lost their only son and a poor family like theirs has to be helped..Some strict action has to be taken..Either pay a huge amount of compensation like 60 lakhs or ban Durgamba busses..!! justice to yashwin and his family has to be done..and durgamba motors should'nt get away with this atleast this time..!!!

Why don’t the RTO install CCTV cameras at strategic points inside the city as well as on national highways? It is very common abroad and they install CCTV almost everywhere hence the drivers are strictly following the traffic rules or they face the music and even they lose their driving licenses. The Indian RTOs are very corrupt and they take such serious issue so lightly. We all could see that every day so many people are dying due to fundamental driving negligence committed by public carriers but nobody is there to stop these killings?

If Speed governors are installed with a top speed limit of 35kms inside city roads and 65kms on the highways for certain categories of private and public transport vehicles it would definitely help put brakes on rash driving.

Please note all old vehicles have time till June 1, 2012 after which they will have to be fitted with the speed governors if their fitness certificates have to be renewed and it is also mandatory for new transport vehicles to be fitted with speed governors if they had to be registered.
The RTO should identify the speeding buses that ply between Udupi and Talapady that dangerously over-speed and kill and mime people. Such rouge drivers don’t follow Line rules they stop at junctions, bends, blind-spots and these drivers break all the RTO rules still the officials are blind to their arrogance. They rashly drive and overtake inside the city limits, mauve and kill innocent people like this vibrant youngster, the only earning son of a rickshaw driver.
What a tragedy? May Yashwin's soul rest in peace and May God give strength and courage to his family to bear this great loss?

Compare to other parts of Karnataka, Accidents are Highest in our Twin Districts because of Rash and Irresponsible Driving of the Drivers of Private Buses. Atleast on Highways all Express Buses should be Run by Government owned KSRTC.

This is my suggestion to RTO - Please keep strict rules for speeding. install cameras also to check speed.
I think in India our Drivers are not scared about traffic rules. Let the traffic police put heavy fines for speeding, wrong turns, unwanted stops. Our traffic police must be paid well and make them work hard to save the lives of people.

Knowing driving or having extereme driving skills are not enough when one drives on the road. The driver should have 2 senses in addition. One is 'driving sense' and the other is 'road sense'. These 2 senses are lacking in most of the drivers in Mangalore. These senses need to be taught and tested before giving licences to bus drivers.

When you see all the accidents that happens in and around Mangalore you would rather agree to have a speed controller and would request the Govt authorities to initiate the speed limit system to fixed on all the Yellow board vehicles. No matter how safe you are but you cannot trust the person from the opposite end.

    I hate Mangalore Local transportation.
Last incidence I remember is a lady and her daughter were killed by local bus near Car street. The scene was much similar, where the bus brushed scooty, and both of them couldn't survive. Now dear readers don't blame two wheelers. A mother, while taking her daughter from school, how much speeding she must have possessed?

I literally blame local bus drivers! The way they overtake each other, they hurry while children, elderly persons climbing the bus, they make too much of noise pressing horn-break etc is literally horrifying... If you ever try to complain, they say "If you are so much sophisticated, then why don't go by car!!"
I have never observed them maintaining a "safe-distance" with other buses, cars or bike.

All they bother is number of routines per day... Who cares about safety!!

Tragic & sad news . May his soul RIP and my condolences to the bereaved family.

On the other hand why was the bike rider taken to K.S.Hegde Hospital in Deralakatte ? He could have been rushed to KMC at Jothi Circle / Unity Health Complex / Highland Hospital or Fr. Mullers. These hospitals cater to accident cases. This is bad road accident management.Probably Yasmin may have actually died during this long journey to Deralakatte.Probably he may have survived if he was rushed to a nearby hospital in Mangalore itself.

Extremely sad to hear the news. We have lost so many of our Youth due to the rash driving by the Bus personnel. "Daijiworld" and Citizens of Mangalore must get together to find a solution to avoid such accidents in the future. Safety Awareness needs to be communicated to the Bus Drivers. Let us all get together so that in future such mishaps do not happen in Mangalore. Other cities do not have this problem...why only Mangalore ?????

Almost every day there is a news about vehicle accidents and deaths. What is RTO doing? It is all because of rash driving in such congested roads. Not only drivers, but also the owners of those buses should be severely punished.

Is there anything in the world which can compensate the life of a 23 year old youth.

Unfortunate! May God give strength to the family to withstand the loss!  Look at the edges of road. This ia a bad practice of road construction with unfinished edges and pavement! The sides of road shows unprofessional job completion and thus unfortunate incidents like above is part of bad roads! Proper safety (helmet) could have minimised damage!
