Dr Borelingaiah said data will be accurate and availability will be instant, and it will also provide classification retrieval of the documents.

Anyone who brakes traffic rules more than three times will face cancellation of driving license for six months. CCTV will be introduced in the city, which will help control the traffic.

This new system also enbables taking image of the person who breaks the rules. The number of the vehicle can be noted in police stations with the help of CCTVs.

He also said that the major traffic junctions will have speedbreakers to avoid accidents along with clear sign boards.

"At present there is a minor confusion between the police and the CMC regarding the necessity of the CCTV, but it will be sorted out soon. Police, CMC and PWD are working on it," he said.

The BlackBerry service has been introduced in eight centers in Udupi district. Gradually it will be extended.

Dysp Prabhudev Mane and circle inspector Girish were present.

Ronald D is getting irritated with BJP Govt success. He knows with BJP Govt he can't indulge in conversion activities. He has already been treated for that in last 4 years.

Luckily he did not claim this is western technology. He does not know he is using Indian number system.

THIS IS CRUCIAL AT THIS STAGE FURTHER MORE REQUIRED.

RTO SHOULD CONCENTRATE NEXT ON SPEED LIMIT. SHOULD REDUCED TO TO 60KM/HR IN HIGHWAY.

THIS WILL AVOID ACCIDENT SPECIALLY IN HIGHWAY MANGALORE TO KUNDAPUR.

It is said - SPEEDING - gets you no where fast.

Any technology that will effectively control speeding, and prevent accidents and save life is the need of the hour.

Yes speed controlers/regulators are there, but not enforced. Let us hope the blackberry toys will do the job

Congrats to the Traffic police of Udupi. It will be good news for law abiding drivers. Hope they will also book cases when a vehicle parked behind another vehicle which has become a nuicens these days.

More than that, it is Bangalore needs more efficiency in Traffic Management. People drive on foot paths and the traffic police look the other way around making it legal to drive on foot paths!

I hope someone in Bangalore takes a note of this!

I have seen lots of times like no traffic but the STOP signal is activated all the times (near to Diana circle UDUPI). No traffic but have to waste our own time... Please do bring this log to the president of municipality and if not so .. what might we can do in this poor India... please do it and if we do it in our era of expertise people will follow... else please donate those signal lights to someone to those who are poor... God bless intelligent UDUPI people..

Good move but if traffic police ive in applying blackberry for some reasons(corruptions) 'BUSINESS AS Usual'

Important factor is issuing driver licence should be streamlined and made scientific testing method with minimum education level.By passing in LICENSE ISSUING IS VIRTUALLY GIVING LICENSE TO KILL.

Traffic police in Bangalore were given BlackBerry devices to facilitate better enforcement of traffic rules 4 to 5 years back, but nothing changed. This is a pure waste of the tax money collected from us. People still break the rules. Its better to educate evrybody regarding the road sense and to follow the traffic signs. Impose heavy fines for breaking the rules, so that anybody will think twice before breaking the rules.
