Mangalore, Jun 19: The city lokasabha area has been granted 9.5 crores in the last budget inclusive of 7 crores for agricultural sector.

MP Nalin Kumar addressed the gathering after flagging off the road construction of Uliya Margathale and Sevanthigutthu areas.

After being elected as MP for the first two years, only Rs 2 cr had been released and for the present year Rs 5 cr is released. Around 75% of the fund has been utilized so far and the rest is on hold due to technical and legal issues. Kumar announced that people stating that the sanctioned amount is not being utilized appropriately is false.

An amount of Rs 1 cr grants is being released for the past 3 years in the city town council area and all 8 constitutes of the Lokasabha area are given equal importance. Development of rural areas definitely gets more importance .

Nalin Kumar stressed that if work is not carried out effectively with the allotted funds then a notice will be received from the higher authority. All the funds allotted and received will be utilized to the fullest.

BJP leaders Chandrahaas Ullal, Chandrashekar Uchilla among others were present on the occasion.
