Riyadh : Seven Star Lifts the 'Uchila Cricket Trophy-2012'

Riyadh, Jun 24: Uchila Trophy  Cricket Tournament 2012 was successfully organized for the second time which was held recently at MVPI Ground here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Seven Star team beat the cricket giant Mangalore Kings team by 56 runs in the final and lifted the trophy.

The tournament was organized by Al Islamiya Youth Federation for the cause of charity activities with the support of Uchila friends. 12 teams participated including Deerah Boys, TanzeemCC, S. ChallengersFC, Mangalore Sporting, Kotli X1, Mangalore Kings, Jazeera Cricketers, Friends Padubidri,  Madinah X1, Eagle Riyadh CC, Parkar C C and Seven Star, respectively  in this much awaited tournament.

































The grand final between Mangalore Kings and Seven Star had demonstrated an exciting glitz in the ground. After winning the important toss, Seven Star Captain Hyder Uchila decided to bat first. The opening pair of Seven Star Imthiyaz & Riyaz Sagar put 42 runs in their opening partnership. In the mid of the innings Manglore Kings bowlers showed excellent performance to control the damage done by the opening pair & in one stage the match was in the hands of Manglore Kings team. A very good partnership between Arshad (36 runs)  & a superb knock by Hydar Uchila (Captain of Seven Star) scoring 46 runs in just 13 balls. He smashed 6 fantastic sixes to place his team in a better situation. In reply Mangalore Kings chasing the target of 186 runs the bats man could not get much from the bowlers of Seven star and finally Mangalore Kings scored only 130 runs & allowed Seven Star team to lift the Uchila Trophy for the second consecutive time.

Prior to this final playoff, one more match for the third spot was played between Padubidri Friend’s and Eagle Cricketers. In a fantastic fixture, Padubidri Friend’s defeated Eagle Cricketers and spotted at third place. 

The grand finale was followed by presentation ceremony.  Mr. Abdul Rehman Sulaiman In his welcome address, he thanked and appreciated all the sponsors, all participated cricket teams, umpires, supporters for the tournament a grand success for the Noble cause.

 Chief guest Mr. Abbas Uchila, Sales Manager of Abu Dawood Company, who presented the Winner of Uchila Trophy  2012 to Seven Stars Karnad  in the presence of hundreds of cricket lovers. While In his keynote address Mr. Abbas Uchila congratulated the Winning, Runner up team, all participated teams, also appreciated the Organizers, and all the supporters for making this event a grand success.

 Mr. Salman Noor presented the Runner-Up Trophy. Abdul Rehman Sulaiman Uchila hosted the presentation ceremony and live match commentary to entertain the public during the match. ALYF Riyadh unit thanks to all the sponsors for their generous contribution.

Second runner-up: Padubidri Freinds (Awarded with trophy)

Man of the Match trophy awarded to both the Semi Final matches,

Man of the Final Match – Hyder Uchila of Seven Star,

Man of the series – Imthiyaz Karnad of Seven Star,

Batsman of the tournament - Imthiyaz karnad of Seven Star,

Bowler of the tournament - Javed of Eagle Cricketers.
