Mangalore, Jul 7: The KPT ground literally turned into a war zone on Saturday July 7 with young NCC cadets undergoing training on how to fight the enemy at the border.

The training was organized by the NCC city unit of 18 Karnataka battalion as part of the 10-day annual training camp. The camp, which began on July 2, is mandatory for the cadets to become eligible for their final examination.

During the camp, the cadets underwent training on map reading, using weapons and firing., apart from participating in other activites like blood donation and cultural programmes.

Around 500 NCC cadets from 23 high schools, PU and degree colleges took part.

On Saturday, the cadets were taught how to react when war breaks out at the border, responding to field signal issued by the chief commander to the military and other war techniques.

The camp is being conducted by commander Achutan Kutti and directed by commander Lt Alok Parmer, together with seven associate NCC officers, junior commissioned officers and two colonels.

At the end of the camp, the cadets will be awarded A, B and C certificates.

Myself an All India Republic Day Camp Contingent-National level (New Delhi) from St.Aloysius Degree College.
It is really nice to see so many N.C.C cadets taking part in the camp. Infact we learn so many practical experiments, Physical fitness, leadership qualities, Behaviour, social service in the society etc
Such trainings are more essential in our education. There are so many personal benefits which I have experienced from the central Government. Parents : Do encourage your Children for a better cause.

Unfortunately, the march past demonstrates the level of training and discipline taught to the cadets by the instructors and their superiors. Annual camp is not less than any parade on the conclusive day. Sorry to say, the standard of the olden days training has drastically ped.

It would be good if you could explain the meaning "Serving India." and Love mother India, to the present generation.

I have seen today, the people serving the political leaders, and the political leaders serving themselves. Poor Mother India, no one bothers.

This is a good opportunity to remember our tough/brave soldiers/Police men who gave their lives to India, fighting the Pakistanis, chinese and other aggressors like 26/11,

To me, India has already been served by the valient soldiers, who died like flies fighting with sticks against the chinese automatic weapons. Their blood will always protect and keep India safe from any aggressors in the future.

Thank you very much for the coverage , & also appreciate the dedication of the cadets, but i am really upset with the training provided by the officials there is no uniformity with their drill Nor their Dress code ( 1St pic Brown Shoes)even in other Pics i cannot see the Dress Code, I really dont knw hw serious are we towards safegaurding our motherland,Being a cadet in my college days i really feal that this should be the favour for young youths to serve our nation rather than making a tim e pass on the ground. This is for the officials to motive our young cadets to serve our country.above all it should also be taken into consideration as to how many cadets take up this job rather than just forgeting once you are out of the college. Dear daiji i really appreciate your coverage, but i feel this particular this is a fun job rather than thinking seriously to serve our country in near future.
Guys who ever have participated atleast 5% of the cadets think of serving our country.
    Love mother India
