Mumbai, Aug 28: ‘Babita Singh Reporting’ puts a determined woman police officer at the centre of a crime investigation, with Nimisha Sajayan playing Assistant Sub-Inspector Babita Singh. The film combines a murder mystery with Babita's personal struggles, resulting in an emotionally driven crime drama.
Babita Singh, fondly called Baby, is a police officer trying to balance her professional responsibilities with her family life. She approaches her senior officer, played by Rajesh Kumar, seeking leave to visit her in-laws. What begins as a simple request soon lands her in trouble and results in her suspension for two weeks.
During this period, Babita reconnects with her childhood friend Bansi Saini, played by Barun Sobti. However, their reunion ends tragically when Bansi dies under suspicious circumstances.
Babita refuses to accept the circumstances surrounding his death and decides to investigate. Despite opposition from her husband and other family members, she continues to pursue the case. Her determination gradually turns the investigation into a deeply personal battle for justice.
