Udupi Jul 27: A press meet was called by Dinesh Kota on Friday July 27, regarding BSR Congress “Swabhimani Sankalp Yatra” which will stop over in the city 5 pm on August 1 at Chitharanjan circle.
He informed reporters that the yatra will begin from Karwar on July 29 and reach Ramanagaram on August 5. The yatra will pass through Udupi, Karkala, via Manipal. Around 2000 supporters’ are expected to join the yatra.
The yatra will be for non-political benefits, he said, and added that BSR is meant for farmers, the poor and helpless people.
The party will soon launch a membership campaign, after which, candidates will be fielded for the upcoming elections. "This will be an opportunity for the new members to join politics so all are welcome," he added.
Ibrahim Kota, Praveen Kaup, Varun Santhakatte and Chethan from Katpady were present at the meet.
