Mangalore: Mother's Death Shatters Young Vaishnavi's Dreams

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Aug 8: 18-year-old Vaishnavi, a differently-abled braveheart who, despite all odds has been pursuing graduation in St Aloysius Evening College, is shattered, and so also all her dreams.

Her mother Shashi, who too was studying in the same college with her, passed away last week. Her mother was everything to her - pillar of support, her strength and her only companion in dealing with her disability.

Shashi and her daughter Vaishnavi

Shashi was suffering from pneumonia and respiratory disorders, and breathed her last on Friday last week. She was in BA final year, while her daughter was a year junior to her.

Shashi was Vaishnavi's sole support, as her father passed away more than eight years ago. With no one else to take care and a disability to deal with, Shashi had ensured that her daughter would get the best education possible. The duo had to face some tough impediments to come this far.

Shashi, who had studied only up till 8th standard because of failing health, was inspired to take up studies once again by her daughter. A chance meeting with the former Headmaster of Aloysius Evening College Praveen Hridayaraj opened the doors for the duo to fulfill their dream of joining the Aloysius Evening School to complete their SSLC exam directly. The mother and daughter together appeared for SSLC.

The two then went on to pursue their graduation from St Aloysius Evening College, thanks to the support rendered by rector of Aloysius institutions, the faculty and the staff. The College even agreed to pay the cost of transport, as Vaishnavi could travel only by auto.

Shashi had dreamt that one day her daughter would complete post-graduation and become a lecturer in a government college, so that she would have a secure future. Now with no one look after Vashnavi, the young girl is in dire straits and orphaned.

shocking indeed to know that vaishnavi lost her mother. i have seen both the mother and daughter arriving at the college portico together and moving up to the evening college section. i admired the motherly concern shashi used to shower on her daughter. they were more like sisters rather than mother-daughter. I wish the college takes up the case of vaishnavi and helps her pursue her studies. Daijiworld has shown the way in the past and why not in the case of vaishnavi too. there are many many good souls out in the world willing to help

As terrible as it is, hurting and painful, unfortunately nobody could stop mother-daughters’ union - classmate rarest bond. Hope, surely St. Aloysious College Rector, Principal and well wishers will win over her and continue to pursue her qualification to fulfill her mother’s wish, becoming lecturer very soon. Dear Vaishnavi, at this moment of crisis, all of Daijiworld readers will surely grieve along with you and devout to share to bear your mother’s loss and pay rich tributes to her, a divine soul.
