Udupi, Aug 18: Prasanna Perdur from Udupi has bagged the first place in the state-level photography contest organized by Udupi Pioneer Photographers' Association (UPPA) on the occasion of World Photography Day.

B Sudhir from Doddaballapur bagged the second prize while Ramesh Chavan from Bijapur came third.

Ravikumar from Saligrama, Raviraj Rao from Hejamady and Sudhakar Yermal from Mangalore won consolation prizes.

As many as 200 photographs from 58 photographers across the state were part of the contest.

The jury consisted of A Eshwarayya, senior journalist, Astro Mohan, Hemanatha Padubidri, Janardhan Kodavooru and Jayaprakash Kini.

The UPPA prize distribution ceremony will be held at MGM College on August 19 at 10 am. A workshop on photography will be conducted by Arun Mahendrakar, senior photographer from Mangalore and by Astro Mohan from Udayavani. A workshop on Adobe Photoshop will also be conducted by Shivakumar from Selam.

Interested people are requested to attend the workshop which is free of cost by 2 pm.
