Mangalore: SCC Silver Jubilee Year Celebrated at Vorkady Parish

Mangalore, Aug 20: A seminar on SCCs was organized at Vorkady Parish on August 19 from 8am to 4.30pm.

Fr Walter D'Souza the director of SCCs, together with the Parish Priest inaugurated the diocesan SCC silver jubilee Year by illuminating the Silver year logo and banner and then celebrated the Holy Mass and preached on the need of SCCs.

A session on SCCs a home for everyone, seven step gospel sharing method, how to conduct ward meeting and content of SCC meeting, the importance of ward committees  was conducted with group discussions  by Fr Walter, Robert D'Souza the diocesan secretary of SCCs, and Asha Monteiro of Shakthinagar.

Fr Denis Suares the Parish Priest, the vice president of PPP, Basil Crasta deanery coordinator and Parish Convener of SCCs, Superior of Ursuline convent were also present.

Fr Denis gave the inaugural message and delivered the welcome speech, Basil Crasta proposed the vote of thanks and the parish secretary compeered the programme.

Nearly 100 members including, Parish Pastoral Parishad members, many lay leaders and 5 Ursuline nuns were present.
