Kundapur: Speeding Car Mows Down Pedestrian

Kundapur, Aug 20: A pedestrian got killed on Sunday August 19 night when a car hit him near Vinayak Kodi Cross on NH 66 here at around 8.15 pm.

The deceased has been identified as Sheena Poojary (30).

The accident occured when a car moving from Kundapur to Koteshwar hit Sheena who was about to cross the road. He sustained critical injuries and died soon after.

Sheena, son of Thimmappa Poojary, is survived by his parents, wife and three children.

It is said that the car, driven by Ganesh Shetty, was travelling at a high speed.

A case has been registered in Kundapur police station against the car driver.

    It is quite natural to drive at high speed on the National Highway. It is meant for that. However, the accident timing is 8.15 pm where people (the pedestrian) can be having a bit of booze. All people need to excercise cautious while crossing the roads, particularly the highways.
