Mangalore, Aug 21: JD(S) Leader M C Nanaiah on Tuesday August 21 expressed doubts over fair investigations into the recent home stay incident, wherein girls were beaten up in front of the TV camera spreading widespread anger.

Addressing a press conference at Circuit House here, he said that though the matter was brought up for discussion in assembly sessions, after the session got over the mode of investigation has been moving on a doubtful path. He said that though home minister R Ashok spoke of charging the attackers under the goonda act, out of the total 32 accused in the incident, only eight were arrested.

He also rued that the state government has failed to check such untoward incidents since four years. “On the day it was a simple birthday party, and ADGP Bipin Gopalkrishnan had also asserted the same point. The boys and girls were known to each other as ex-college friends and as ex-colleagues,” he said.

Coming down on the BJP-led state government he said that the BJP is trying to yield political gain out of this incident and that it is following cheap political tricks.

He urged revelation of the phone call details between Kankanady police circle inspector and the main accused in the attack at 6.30pm on the day, and said the call details will present the entire picture of the incident.

"District-in-charge minister C T Ravi and local MLAs have not met the victims and their parents for consoling them," he pointed out.

He also called for a CBI enquiry into the incident and said that innocent youth of a particular community are being used by the upper class political hands for their gain.

To a query on Yeddyurappa's tour to the drought-affected villages, Nanaiah said that Yeddyurappa should be active in politics and said that BJP without Yeddyurappa cannot be a party. Asked about any possibility of attracting him towards JD(S), he did not give a clear answer which has now raised eyebrows. He said JD(S) is the only alternative political power to replace the Congress and BJP parties in the state.

JD(S) leaders Sushil Noronha and M G Hegde were also present among the others.

JD(S) leader Nanaiah seems to know investigation into H/S is doubtful.
May be is in cahoots with BJP over the matter,
If not as a political party, what they have done to get justice to the affected.
Have they done anything but say waht they said today.
JD(S) is same like BJP - brother and sister (kamal)
    Really useless minister
if he has guts let him approach BJP government to take real action against those HJV goons.
They have enough proof. I do not think they need any better proof than the media shoot.
It was in the air live, there cannot be any morphing of the recording. Millions of people have seen it.
Then why BJP is stalling to mete out punishment to those gonndas?

That Congress is another  useless party - with that (weak) Oscar talking unnecessarily.

Nanaih is one the tall leaders from Mercara. Sad that others are silent. CT Ravi must be busy grabbing land at Chikmaglur.
