Udupi: Free Ambulance Services Inaugurated at Prasad Netralaya

Udupi, Aug 25:
The Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Arvind Limbavali, inaugurated the Free Ambulance Service and Secular Microscope unit at the super speciality eye hospital Prasad Netralaya, Netrajyothi Charitable Trust on Thursday August 23.

The minister said that the ambulance is a facility which every hospital must have and improved technology in the medical field is a must. He congratulated the authorities for the same. If private institutions are ready to join hands with government then the service can reach all the people in the society said Aravind Limbavali.

Today these sectors are converting into business which is not beneficial for the society. Some private institutions are aiming to make money from these service sectors. Doctors have to be service minded rather than business intellects.

He was happy to see that there is an eye bank available at Prasad Nethralaya, Udupi and advised that every individual must help in the eye donation.

Bangalore based entrepreneur Dayanand Pai donated the ambulance to the Nethra Jyothi Charitable Trust on the occasion.

A person who wants to help from his heart is a person who has a service nature, said Dayanand Pai.

On the same occasion Red Cross Society Udupi District Chairman Basrur Rajiv Shetty handed over the Specular Microscope unit to Netrajyothi Red Cross Society Eye Bank.


Ragupathy Bhat (MLA), Kiran Kumar (CMC President) and Yashpal Suvarna (Udupi –K.K Fish Sellers Federation), Udyakumar Shetty (President Udupi district BJP), Rashmi Krishna Prasad  were present at the function.

Director, Dr Krishna Prasad welcomed the dignitaries, Ramakrishna Madhur delivered the introductory speech, Raghuram Rao K of Netrajyothi Trust expressed his gratitude to the attendees.
