Mangalore, Aug 27: South Canara District Chess Association conducted the Inter district Womens’ s Rapid Chess Tournment at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan on August 26.
Chess players from South Canara and Udupi district participated in this event. The event was inaugurated by Dr Kripa Alva the social activist an Ex- Governor of Mangalore.
Sathyaprakash and Suresh Chouta attended the programme as representatives of Bharti Axa who sponsored this event.
The pesident of South Canara District Chess Association welcomed the gathering. Vice- president Lidia Syble D’cunha proposed vote of thanks and Panchami Shenoy compered the event.
The first place was bagged by Manasa K (Mangalore), runner up Swathi Bhat (Mangalore). While the third and fourth place was achieved by Panchami Shenoy K (Mangalore) and Ashwija Bharanya (Mangalore)
