Mangalore: Bad Weather Forces AI Passengers Stranded in Calicut

Mangalore, Aug 27: The heavy rainfall during the past couple of days has caused disturbances in every aspect of life.  Air India Express flight from Dubai on its way to Mangalore was redirected to Calicut after facing landing problems due to bad weather conditions on Sunday August 26 at 6 am.

The same passengers were flown back to Mangalore at 5.45 pm on Sunday August 26. But unfortunately, the weather was just as bad in the morning and the flight had to return back to Calicut.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Air India sources said that all the passengers have been sent back by road last night.

However, Monday morning's Dubai - Mangalore flight landed at 8.30am

Due to bad weather, Sunday's Mangalore - Kuwait flight also could not take off. However the same flight took off on Monday morning at around 11.55 am.

IN CERTEN LEVEL I AGREE WITH U BUT Y AIR INDIA FACE THE SAME PROBLUM Y NOT OTHER AIRLINES.IF AIRLINES IS FACING THE LANDING PROBLUM CHANGE THE TIMING.IT IS NOT ONLY MANGALORE THER ARE ALSO OTHER AIRPORTS FACING THE SAME PROBLUMS Y PEOPLE ONLY BLAME MANGALORE ONLY BECUSE AIR INDIA EXPRESS TRAGEDY.DONT FORGET MANGALORE AIRPORT HAS BEAN GIVING SERVICE SINCE FROM 25 DEC 1951.

    Dont blame AI for this. actually Sunday runway visibility was extremely low. and the morning jet flight from bangalore was also faced problem during landing and for more than half an hour flight was not landed and its just fly on the sea.this is mainly problem with the location of air port. which is top of hill and naturally in rainy season heavy fog will be there.

    Either way we blame Air India, if it lands it is hard landing, if it does not land ...why not landing? All the good work of rescuing these same Gulfis from Kuwait Iraq and Libya is promptly forgotten.

    The existing airport located on top of a hillock is unsuitable place as there are several factors which determine the landing and take off of the flights. In order to reduce the quantum of risk it will be better that another airport is built on a level ground. For this we all have to forego our egos and work for a solution that will benefit all without compromising on safety whatsoever. We have to bear in mind that the pilots are humans and they try their best at all times to avoid any catastrophe. Since we are faced with this type of situation year on year it is no use complaining. In fact this should be a wake up call for all the persons involved to take some tough decisions. We should not wait for any untoward situations inorder to wake up from our deep slumber. Setting up another airport is also a solution. There is nothing wrong in having 2 airports.

    Making passengers fool..!!! Please throw them out from Mangalore Airport.If they continue their services,day by day passenger will suffer more and more.

    Nowadays everybody talking about Air India...They are creating more Panic to their customer.
